ARGOT 2016 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard Sonoma Mountain
VINEYARD Designed, installed, farmed and tended, Argot’s Estate Vineyard has been a labor of love since day one, that we are proud to own 100% control of. Planted at a significantly dense 2,420 vines per acre (3 ft between vines, 6 ft vine rows) to 6 California Heritage clones, our goal is to grow perfectly ripe fruit of significant intensity. Perched at 1000’ elevation on the NW-face of Sonoma Mountain at the far western edge of the AVA. The Pinot Noir blocks reside on a steep north-facing slope composed of a geologically dramatic soil formation. Planted, 2009.
PRODUCTION 175 cases
VARIETAL 100% Pinot Noir. California Heritage clone Rochioli and Van der Kamp field selection

AGING 22 months new French oak. Never racked before bottling. Bottled unfined, unfiltered.
NOTES Vineyard is tended to a meager per-vine-yield due to clonal selection, inter-vine competition and aggressive vine-by-vine farming management. What arrives in the glass is a full-throttle expression of mountain-side, Heritage-selection Pinot Noir — red and black fruits, accented by streaks of pine forest, bass notes of clove spice and black tea, balance by high-toned menthol and Eucalyptus notes. These wines provide both depth and intensity, framed by a structure built to evolve for years in the cellar. A no-holds barred Pinot Noir.
